can the larger dia 96mm oil filter be fitted instead of 76mm dia ,seal size's the same . a4 b6 2002 1.8 t.

I think you will find that it is now recommended to fit the bigger oil filter to all 1.8T engines, i run a 1996 and a 2004 1.8T's and always use the genuine audi larger filters, in fact the 2004 model the larger filter is the recommended one. the part no. is 068 115 561 F, and costs about £5.70 from TPS (more from audi). I also use the fully synthetic longlife 111 quantum oil and change every 6K miles.
