No indicator ticking or light warning buzzer

I've bought the other half a 1.4 TDI Twist 53 plate, nice little car but the only things that are a little strange is the lack of Indicator ticking and the headlight warning buzzer.

I have checked another car to make sure these work and they do, also its been back to the garage we bought it from, they tried VAGCOM to see if they had been turned off but it does not have that particular facility installed so any ideas would be gratefully received.:1zhelp::1zhelp:

No headlight warning buzzer could be a failed microswitch in the drivers door lock

If the indicator isn't ticking either it sounds like it might be the speaker itself. Does the warning beep work? Run it low on fuel, does it beep when the light comes on?
