View Full Version : audi coupe quattro 2.8 v6 rear springs??????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????

hi all, my rear spring has broken on my 1995 audi coupe quattro 2.8v6 and i'm having an absoloute nightmare trying to find some replacement springs for it, as i'm told there was only 200 of these cars made and no one does parts for it. does anyone know where i can get some from???????????

Would it have to be 2.8 springs or why not any of the coupe quattro, or even a set up from the S2

If you can identify the Audi part number your local dealer may be able to advise any other model where the 2.8 springs are used. I would be willing to bet they are used on another model of similar vintage for example an A4/6/8.
As fourringsrus suggests use the springs off another model. A 2.6 and 2.8 use the same engine and the weight difference is likely to be minimal (the addition of a 4wd system - say 50-100kgs) and I wonder if they use the same rear springs.
If you really want to get technical if you can find the length and spring rate you should be able to pick up a similar spring from a specialist supplier.

I would go as far as to suggest that a full set of lowered set up would be as easy to find for quite a sensible figure, again dont forget the S2 is essentially a quattro coupe, unless I'm being simplistic

i have s2 springs all round on my 2.8v6 quattro coupe, its a nice easy job to do.
