Hi Gang

Searched looads of threads, and there are wildly different gains reported with the 170tdi, so has anyone had and A4 B7 170 remapped.

Are there any issues problems with clutch & gearbox after mapping, any definitive help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mac

Hi Mate

The only REAL way of knowing is getting the re-map done by a company with a rolling road where you can measure the gains correctly.

I got my 140 remapped to 170 and when they tested it, it was already showing 147 bhp as standard so the gains I got were 23 BHP. But I did ask for a performance and economy remap which was upto 30 BHP, I could have gone for performance only which was upto 50 BHP.

So you can expect a realistic gain of 30 BHP taking you upto 200 BHP, but you may get an even more aggressive one and take it up to 220 BHP.

My car is on a 06 reg with 130K before the re-map, now its on 164K and still has the original clutch and turbo but by saying that it all depends on how you drive you can make the clutch last 5k or 150k!

It seems to be a bit of a mine field remapping the 170, some say upgrade the clutch, Audi say stock will take 200bhp without issues

These cars are solid and i think it will be fine up to 220 BHP. Anything more then yes probably upgraded cluth will be required?
