View Full Version : blocked windscreen squirter

Hello,

One of my squirters is very weak, barely squirting anything, the other one on the driver side is fine. I tried cleaning it by sticking a pin down the hole and blasting some air from a compressor through it, but to no avail.

I disconnected both and swapped them incase there was a pipe blockage, it just swapped the problem tot he other side, so I;ve put them back as I have the MOT tomorrow and I figure its better to have the driver side squirter operating correctly.

Any help appreciated, I know it sounds simple, but there;s only so much you can do to clean the nozzle.

Regards

Jon T

New nozzle can't be that expensive can it? Nip to your dealer if you have time before your MOT

If not, remove it and sink it into vinegar! ;)

Martin gave me a great tip on this that is dead simple.
Take it off and soak it in vineger overnight then rinse out.
Provided your jet isn't damaged it should do the trick.
Certainly made mine work a charm.
Thanks again for that one Martin! :beerchug:

Been meaning to do this for ages. How do you actually get them out? I had a fiddle but was scared of snapping it.

Another trick is to pop a couple of denture cleaning tablets into the bottle, this normally sorts out old jellyfied screenwash.

had this on our golf..tried all the above ..ended up on ebay x2 for £20... expensive for a bit of plastic but just glad i could see again..

To release ...they just pop out if you grip it from the front and back just press and pull at same time..then just ease off "clamp" on the pipe and pull of the pipe..

i drove with pipe angled on the screen for a couple of days untill del..
