View Full Version : Can't Find Part Anywhere!?

Hi,

I've been renewing various parts on my car and one part is giving me some problems as i can't seem to find anybody who stocks it anywhere!
I've circled the part i'm trying to source in red, in the image below.
I think what is causing the problem is the fact it can't be removed from a vehicle without damaging it (so i read), which counts out the numerous 'breakers yards' i've been trawling.

Any suggestions?

Pm Stuart on this - http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=67967 to request a part number and maybe it'll help you along :)

Hi again,

Thanks for helping me zero in on the actual part number. I've googled for a while now and it seems like lots of Russian/Polish websites that don't have the part. Is there somebody who i should be checking this part number with?

Sorry for being such a newb, it's my first car and i haven't got a clue!

Thanks

Well that's a pure "couldn't see the wood for the trees" moment!

I'll contact my local Audi people and see if I can get one. Thanks for the help.

P.S - I couldn't get the part number for the rear licence plate holder aswell, that could do with replacing too?

If you register here (It's free but compulsory) and then click the "Parts Catalogue" link, you can see the parts diagrams and lists and sometimes the prices in Euros.

PS, it seems down ATM, it has been up and down like a whore's drawers recently. :Blush2:

If the Audi part is very expensive, theres at least one on pikeybay.

There is an Audi like this in the scrap yard I'm going back to later for some parts from a Ford. I'll take a look for you.

Hi,

Yeah here is a link to the seller/part on eBay. This is for the boot strip, but it's in black. I mailed the seller and they said he hasn't got any chrome in stock at the moment but said they have stocked them before. So i'll wait until they've got some in.

P.S. - I just had an idea. Do you think i could just get the black one off eBay then spray it up with some chrome effect spray paint? Or would this just look stupid?

Just be patient and wait -- you know it makes sense .:beerchug:

I wonder if he brought it, as its now sold on ebay.

Im gutted, as i hate that stupid chrome bit on the boot, and had that item still been for sale once i was paid, i'd have brought it.

Oh well, waiting for another to come up.
