K Line wire

Hi

I hope someone can help me. I have just fitted a Connects2 CTVADX002 cable to allow an Mp3 connection to my A4 Nav Plus radio setup. In order to plug in the CTVADX002 cable I had to remove the blue connector from the rear of the Quadlock connector. There is only one wire connected to this on pin 5 and described as K Line. Can anyone tell me what this wire is for and does it need to be connected or is it safe to leave it disconnected.

k wire is the diagnostic line so without it you can not read the memory etc, so it s important

just reconnect into the new plug if provided but those connects2 kits are **** anyway
