Hello all, Its nice to be here with like minded owners on this brilliant forum. Thanks to Stuart and the team for letting me in.

Just a little about me and the car etc, I own an old high mileage scabby 1995 VW Vento diesel. This I have owned for around 5 years and to be honest I have not looked after it much apart from cam belt swaps and what ever it has needed to keep it going and legal. It has (and still does) been thrashed to within an inch of its life and abused slightly without intentionally trying to break it. I have owned all sorts of bikes cars vans and small trucks over my many years of motoring and I have to admit that this little car with its small 'chip fat' engine just about comes top of the list for reliability and economy. Brilliant engineering, pity they don't make them like that anymore :crying:.
My partner also owns a 51 Passat which is a very nice car but I still like my old Vento more.

I will try and sort some photos out of the old Vento or take some more! I am even thinking of bringing it to a meeting if I can get a sensible couple of nights off from work. Guess these cars are getting a little bit like 'hens teeth' nowadays. Mine is nowt special, just bog standard and a worker, not a show car by any length.
