I rarely get to drive madams 2003 2.5TDi A4 Multitronic but last night noticed that when pulling away there is a definate lag from pushing the throttle to the car pulling away.

Gear changes such as they are on a multitronic are smooth and the car creeps in drive easily and smoothly.

Is this lag a normal feature? She has commented on it a number of times as it is clearly different to her previous BMW 3 series and my Saab auto both of which use conventional torque convertor autoboxes.

Thanks.

Define "lag" - if it's only when pulling away a momentary can be somewhat normal....it did it even when mine had a whole new box fitted under Audi Warranty (old one did it too). It seems to be worse during the very cold weather too - maybe that's just perception though.
