I've had the car into VW and their looking for 3 hours of labour on top of what they have had today.
Problem, if raining the boot warning light is on and front wipers work for approx 30 seconds and go off. You have to turn off ignition and then they will work again.
This process is a little bit tricky when on a motorway and it stops working and your doing 70mph with no hard shoulder anywhere.
This issue only generally happens when the car is wet and is intermittent. The garage suggested changing catch in boot lid, they used a donor car and this didn't cure the fault. The diagnostic machine didn't find anything either.
Sometimes a correlated fault is that central locking won't close the car aswell, but a good slam of boot normally cures this issue, but dash light on still remains.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
