I want to run a cable from my grille to the glove compartment. I don't have any gloves, so I thought I'd put a hard drive video recorder in it and put a small camera in the grille.

I have a 2003 S4. Ideally I would like to push a phono cable through the firewall without having to drill it. Any one know of any available holes already there and how to get ot them?

Alternatively, is there anywhere that I could drill safely? These cars seem so technical I'm half expecting every body panel to be linked to a printed circuit board.

Any advice????

There will be several existing holes through the firewall utilised by various wiring loom branches. They're normally pretty full already but you normally can fit a cable through the grommit, doubt you'd get a phono plug through though, you may need to cut the wire & re-join it once you've poked the cable through. There's not a lot of room at the back of the engine bay but have a look from on tip for any cabling going through the firewall near the battery, if not you'll need to get underneath the car and look from there. Have fun, an interesting idea!!
