Hi - The door mouldings on my coupe are starting to flake paint off, anyone ever removed them? If so how? Its the trim on the middle of the door, not the lower black rubbery ones.
Cheers

Hi just changed mine take off the door card and you can see the 8mm nuts that hold the trim on make sure the window is in the up posn and be careful when taking the nuts off as they might be a bit rusty and you will snap the stud part like i did on one, spray them with wd40 leave about 1/2 hour then have a go good luck.

Thanks for the info. So did you buy new ones or just spray up the old ones?

There are only 22 drivers side left and 25 near side in the whole of the vag group i have had a nightmare getting the door card rubber seals audi no longer make them i bought the last one for the near side front but i have bought the other three from a guy in Italy on the S2 forum they are a weak point on the coupe and cab i would check yours out they are like rocking horse s--t and expensive for what they are.

Hi, thanks for the info, might buy those seals but my car will never be mint, cant afford a respray! Now if i had an S2 i would deffo buy a set. A chap at work tells me theres a company on the net that can make up any type of rubber seal for you, i'll ask him when i see him what the company name is and see if we can get a price for a load of them?
How do you get the door card off, i can only find one screw in the grab handle, one up in the outside corner and one behind the handle but it doesnt seem to want to budge, have i missed any?:1zhelp:
Did you manage to blag any discount at Audi? My local dealer gave me 10% off for being in this club, worth asking next time.

Hi there three screws in the grab handle one inside one at the bottom of the elbow and one at the top of the handle behind the mirror switch you need a allan key to get the handle off and then you remove the two screws that hold the grab handle brackets on the small screw on the side and then you lift the door card and its off ,yeah that would be good iff your mate can find the address of that company for the rubber parts loads of the guys would buy the seals there are guys all over europe and america that want them. good luck with the cards.

Hi there are four screws one in the side as you open the door one in the carpet moulding just where the seat belt chrome bar is you have to prise the gromet out to get to it one in the back corner of the rear card you have to take out the back seat and also the rear bolster where there is also a screw. To take the bolster out you pull the rear back rest forward and use a allen key to remove the back rest bolt that secures the back rest then the screw should be visable in the trim they are all phillips screws the card should then pull upwards and should come out it,s a bit of a job just for four screws did you manage the mouldings ? I forgot to mention that you have to take out the bolt that holds the crash bar in the door out, the one at the back of the door i think it,s 13mm and lift the bar upwards up and you will get to all the bolts let me know iff you managed to get the rear card out mine was a bitch.

Yeah managed the front, tried to wedge a spanner in behind that foam pad and broke it! Never mind got another one. Most of the studs sheared off even with WD40, trim was goosed anyway so got some more from Ebay (audibits2 - very helpful guy). Painted them myself, came up OK, going to G3 them and the rest of the car as im going to a car show with it on 19th of June.
Going to buy the door rubber bottoms this week too. Did you buy all 6 or just the 2 door ones for £77?
Thanks for the tips again for the rear card.
