Can you drive through and past the misfire up to the red line at 6500pm or does it prevent you going beyond 3K?

you can drive though 3000 but it dose not like it

A lot of things spring to mind such as poor spark, insufficient fuel delivery or a component failure such as the crank speed sensor. I think that you should start with a fault code read and see what is stored on the ECU. Does it idle smoothly?

runs smooth at tick over changed the crank sensor 8 weeks ago due to cable brake-up have a good spark and no falts on reader ?

You need to have the fuel pressure checked.
