Evening all,

Well i had a rather eventful journey setting off from work. It seems like the bracket/clip on the clutch mechanism (under the rubber bush) has given way.

Luckily a friend helped me reset the clutch cable, I banged the metal back into shape and we managed to slip some washers and crush them together to fit around the end of the cable as a temporary solution. It pinged and the metal is cracked and happened literally as I was about to turn down the street. (Luckily it didnt happen this morning or mid drive somewhere over the weekend).

Does anyone know the part number for this clip? or does it come with the new cable assembly if i purchase a new one?

Its a bit annoying if i need to buy a new cable for a clip for this clutch lever.

Im not sure how long these washers and the already weakened plate will last.

Found it, noone seems to know the proper name of it though so im going with clutch lever arm clip.

VW had none in stock but luckily managed to find one at gsf for £4.80 - score!

Came with both plates and the rubber grommet/bush - wheras the backing plate was missing on mine which probably helped it break. Im sure they didnt reset the tension when refitting it and with the missing plate and its probably not done any favours.

Cowboys really! :banghead:

Still just a starter motor and a brake fluid change and i should be sorted!

Now i need to get this fitted at lunch before my baby comes.
