Morning All,

Just driven down the end of the road only to discover I have my first flat. Got the space saver and the tool kit out of the boot, which looked like it had never been touched. However, the tool you use to get the caps off of the bolts is missing.

What else can I use so that I can change the wheel and go and buy one!

Thanks,

Mike.

A left handed screwdriver might work.

Cheers GarJE, nice idea but I only have right handed and don't want to mess my alloys up.

Got to go to B&Q for a long weight anyway so I'll take a look.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Sometimes the application of blue or yellow steam can help to ease them off , failing that the screw driver used carefully will do it

Strip of thin metal about 10 long and 1cm wide. Bend to a U shape, then bend the last 4mm of each end in towards each other 90 degrees.

Slide this over cap, squeeze together and withdraw keeping them squeezed.

Does you toolkit have a piece of bent wire , one end being a finger pull loop and the other a small right angled bend ? If you have this tool it's for pulling the caps off.

A pair of long nosed pliers works for me.....

The bent wire is for removing the cenntre cap not the bolt cap...

Thanks all, whilst shopping for a new bubble for my spirit level I bought a left handed screwdriver, this coupled with a small sponge (to protect my wheels, not mop my brow) proved adequate in removing the caps. CHeers all, I will purchase the correct tool asap. OFf to get some EAgle F1's in the morning.
