Just wanted to share info in case others are due this without knowing. I had my DTM in yesterday for an MOT, I enquired that there is a rumor that new coils are being fitted for free by Audi UK under the 28E9 action number, it is called '28E9 Product Enhancement Campaign'. After a few minutes of waiting I was told that a check will be made on my car and if necessary they would be changed.
Upon collecting my car I was told all coils had been changed F.O.C :)
New coils as per pictures attached. New coils part number 07K 905 715 F

I wonder if this will affect mine although I've never had coil pack problems so they may have already been changed. Will check with the dealer :)

I had not had any coil problems either, However I did have intermittent rough idling, may be this is the fix :)

My car went in today and without asking they told me they would be replacing the 8 coils. I dont know what the coils are or what they do but nice to get them replaced FOC :-)

If you have 8 of them Alan your a lucky man !! They are basically a spark plug lead & ignition module built into one and cost around the £40 mark each so your now worth around £320 more than you were before :)

Ah ok, then they probably meant that I should have 6 since its a V6 and not a V8!

I believe If your '1.8TFSi' has 07K 905 715 D or 07K 905 715 F then it should be OK, any other coils fitted will be replaced with 07K 905 715 F

Just want to thank Sarge for the tip I rang Bolton Audi and they confirmed that theres is a recall on the coil pack. £140 saved and booked in for Tuesday. Had enough problems with coil packs with my old B6 A4. I wonder if i can keep my old coil packs as a back up?

I spoke to my local Audi dealer this evening.
Turns out the coil packs on my car were "outstanding"....and I don't mean exceptionally good.
The dealer confirmed that my car required "product enhancement" so I booked the car in.
Also confirmed that the "upgrade" will be free of charge.
I'm booked for 22 April and it typically takes an hour but they said to allow a couple of hours so I'll check out the R8, RS4 and anything else that takes my fancy.
Thanks to all in this thread who posted advice :beerchug:

;) Welcome Pal :D
I wish also had asked to keep the old coils, but in all reality I can't see that as they will most probably say they will have to be returned to Audi... as they usually do :o

All done this morning :D
If anyone takes their petrol engined car to Norwich Audi get in touch with Simon White and let him know your VIN number- he will then let you know if your car is eligible for the coil pack replacement, takes about 45 mins to change them.
