So springs or coilovers!!!
Don't want to be rubbing when grankids get in the car and the boots full.
Also what makes are recommended.

It is already going to be lowered being an S Line so springs such as Eibach will only drop it a little, if at all from the quoted 30-mm which is for cars without factory lowering. You have to remember with coilovers that the ride is much harsher and the cost of the kit much higher.

Can't go wrong with Eibach. They are a VW Group approved supplier for their own range of lowering kits.
Crasher, what about the 'sportline' range of springs from Eibach. They should give about 15mm-20mm drop from standard S-line suspension (which is about 25mm lower than base se/lux suspension) as they are a 40-50mm drop, or are these a bit harsh?

Too harsh for my bad back these days but we do them. I am always very aware of spoiling the ride in cars such as an A4.

I have the SE and want to lower the car. These sound like they would lower it plenty but would that put extra wear on the shocks?
Thanks

Dont be saying that Crasher, I recieved my credit card reciept for the Weitec that I ordered from you last week ( didnt even look as it will spoil my weekend )
Looking forward to getting them hopefully tomorrow so I can fit them but if not, next weekend.
From my own personal experiance from the cars that I have owned over the years, I have always prefered the ride on coilovers compared to just springs and would say that just springs would be more of a harsh ride but as I said, thats just from my experiance. Ill tell you better next week when I get my bad boys fitted lol

Yes but you are not a miserable old fart like I am, are you? I find my Octavia’s ride too harsh and my wife’s Polo GTI kills me!

When I was 34 I was still driving my Mk1 and Mk2 with rock solid coilovers and aftermarket anti roll bars.

Is last post and above quote linked in anyway ? :)
No big parcels came today so it looks like they will be next Saturdays job. Do they come from yourselves direct Crasher or overseas first ?
Not that it matters really but just wondering why such a lengthy delivery time.

They are all shipped directly from Der Fatherland unless it is one of the kits we hold in stock but the range is so vast we don’t keep many. Have you received your invoice yet?

Yip, I got my invoice yesterday.

The invoice comes from us, the parts from KW in Germany so it will be winging its way to you now. I was not able to keep an eye on proceedings last week as I was having a week off but I will check up on progress on Monday and get you a DPD tracking number.

My A4 2.0 TQ was equipped with S-Líne-suspension, I did like it but it was not in balance (front is a big high), I'd buy Eibach Pro Kit ( would turned to Sportline but it's not found for quattro-model's) and surprise suprise - now
my car is really in balance, dropped from front 18 mm and from back 13 mm compared to S-line.
Origal S-Line is a bit hash too, expecially higher speed's ( from 80 km/h up) it keep front end pumping agressively, Pro Kit is a bit soft in the beginning and it can absorb the smaller bumbs from road - I suggest GOOD shoch's to be installed simultaneoysly.
