looking at changing to the above from a vw golf VR6,,,,

What's to look out for / check in the service history for?

I've spotted a 2002 '02' reg, 59k miler with fsh. is £5,995 a fair price?

Ive had my 3.0 quattro sport now since october and really love the car. Mine is an early one though on a 51 plate and its also 5 speed. The only issue i have come accross with the car is the gearbox (Manual) it sometimes is very hard to get into 2nd, indeed sometimes during winter it refused to go in at all, but not as bad in warmertemperatures.

Gearchanges are sometimes met with a heavy clunk, even with gentle changes, although with 83k on the lock a clutch and flywheel change is on the cards within the next 12 months when funds allow.

Cambelts are 80k or 8 years, get the waterpump done at the same time, mine had just started to let coolant by so it was all done.

Great cars though, and the v6 sounds sweet.
