Hi all
I'm after some advise
My car is 6 months old with 7000 miles on the clock and I am the first owner, majority of my driving is M4 and M5
My problem is the amount of stone chips on the bonnet and leading edges of the wings, car is looking worse than a 10 year old z3 we have in the garage :(
Paint is black metallic and as the primer is white the stone chips are very prominent
I have emailed Audi customer service, to date no reply
Has anyone else had similar problems and were Audi helpful?

Stone chipping is not covered by the paint warranty,i doubt very much if Audi will cover the issue. My only advise is to wax the front end well and keep your distance from the vehicle in front

Thanks for the response, my concern is more about the quality of paint on a car that cost in excess of £25k, colleagues who drive BMWs, Fords etc have nothing like the number of chips that my car is suffering from.
Regards giving the car a good polish, yes, that's done every other week and I certainly leave sufficient space using the reminder "only a fool breaks the two second rule", learnt during an advanced driving course some years ago

Having previously owned Ford, BMW and now driving Audi, I find the paint quality on my Audi worse than on the Ford and BMW. So I'm not surprised that your colleagues' cars are not showing as many chips.
Dark colours also show up worse as, like you point out, the primer shows through more prominently.
I don't think what you describe is unusual. For example, I also once had a royal blue Honda Civic, and after 4k miles it had so many chips it looked like it had a rash.
I think you can get some sort of protective 'skirt' for the front end of the car - have you thought about one of those at all? Other than that, there's not a lot more you can do

With hindsight a protective film would have been a good idea, car will need a blow over first as it does look like a serious case of dandruff has afflicted the bonnet:mad:(
