Has my injectors given up the ghost??

Travelled 200 miles today back from Somerset with no problems at all, stop /starting on the way for little boys break etc.

Anyway got home had a cuppa and a couple of hours later popped out for Fish and Chips car started ok, drove ok picked up chips got in car and it struggled to start. pulled off and then nothing..dead!! rolled to a stop tried again, nothing. It turns ok with no problem, no warning lights on the dash.

AA called, arrived within 10 minutes they read the computer and no faults found, chap said though that mean nowt. He took a few pipes off spayed a quick start spray and it started and died. He said fuel is not getting to the cylinders so could be injector.

Has anyone else had same symptoms??

Failed injector usually gives a fault code but AA scanner may have missed it. There are a few electrical faults that give similar symptoms. You won't know until VW run a proper scan.

When my injector failed, I got the Engine Fault - Garage! warning on the dash, along with some lights.

I hope for your sake that it isn't an injector failure, and is something a little less wallet draining like a fuel pump fault.

Hopefully someone like Martin or Crasher will be along soon, and will be able to give you a far more educated answer than I ever could.
