Standard alarm questions

I have a 2.0tfsi quattro s-line but the owners manual gives very little information regarding the standard alarm that is fitted.

I have a couple of buttons towards the back of the drivers door pocket. I believe these disable the ultrasonic and tilt sensors for when you want to alarm the car with pets inside or when transporting it. Is that correct?
Does the fact I have the button mean I have ultrasonic sensors? On my old BMW the sensors were very obvious but I cant see them on my car unless they are hidden behind some grills in the dash or interior mirror.

Currently the hazzard lights flash once when arming and twice when disarming. There is no audio sound and I believe this is something which can be turned on with vag-com (I am happy with the way that it is).

What does the alarm sound like when it goes off? Is there a separate siren or is the car horn used?

Is there an indication the alarm has gone off while you have been away when you disarm the car such as the lights flashing more than 2 times for example?

your spot on with the 2 buttons
and yes you can change the lock unlock sound via vcds
and the alarm sounds crap

The alarm really is rubbish, very quiet.

Leave your window open, lock the car, put your hand through the window and wave your hand around or something, it'll soon set off the alarm and you can see for yourself!

Once the alarm does turn off, the indicators (hazards) stay on for a while before turning off as well i think. I'm not entirely sure however because after around 5 minute's i've always returned to the car and unlocked it again.

I think once the alarm has been activated the flashing LED blinks twice as fast as normal.

That could be a load of garbage though...:D
