I've been looking for a full arm rest for my Passat 06 plate.. But the issue is mine is a standard butt naked one standard as standard can be! My middle section of the car, (where the whole gear box cover sits around & drink holders) is fully all open, I dont know what sort of arm rest I need or do I need to change the whole thing?!?! advice pls

They are all the same fitment. Best bet go to local scrappy and get the whole centre unit to replace yours. However! You will not have the rear vents working, nor the rear 12v supply, however you could just tap the 12v from the front! Hope this helps! :)

You can buy the rest and back vent piece seperately, i'll get the part numbers for you. Probably as cheap to buy the whole console as Tom says though..........good thing about doing that is you should get the sliding cup tray also. Just lift up the existing console and all the pieces bolt in , so you dont need to fully remove the existing console.......

PM sent ;)

If you want to go the non-OEM way you might want to consider this:

I know how you feel I did the mod a while back should have taken the rest out of the car before selling but I couldn't be bothered.

It's literally a 30min job imo...

Steps to install

1. Buy center console from Scrappy (That way you get all the bits for the armrest cost me £65 + VAT)
2. Get home ratchet set and a nice cuppa tea (Make sure you retain all screws and clips from yours)
3. Move front seat forward for easy access to screws....Remove the back panel to see 2 bolts (10mm)
4. Align and screw new one in. Put back cover on and screw in
5. Admire your work and go for a drive:beerchug:

Also when you reconnect the aircon controls remember to plug in the connector for the vents otherwise the vents will be stuck on the last setting used...Realised this after I had finished

I used this thread for directions as well http://www.passatworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=304040&highlight=euro+cup+holder
It is really easy
