Right I bought a 2004 A4 cab 3 weeks ago and noticed alot of condensation in both headlights so I took it to a well thought of VAG garage. I was told I needed new headlights so Ive had them fitted at a cost of £500. The lights are brand new and are genuine audi parts but Ive just got home and noticed one light already has condensation in it and the other one hasn't so........... I mean is it normal or is there something not right here?

Hi mate , both my '02 A4 quattro and my current '52 A4 cabby show this quirk and I'm not concerned by it

The condensation in the old light blew the bulb hence I got new headlights but I didn't expect brand new genuine ones to get condensation but I think ill take your view on it and not be bothered about it.

Well £483 and I did get the parts from audi at £181 plus VAT each light but your right but in my defence I just want my car right so I paid it only to find condensation appear again in one of the new lights :(

Not sure if this is of any help to anyone, but I also suffered from condensation in the headlight clusters. A solution I found that works for me was to pop in a bag of silicon gel (those little bags you sometimes get with electrical goods) into the back of each cluster - since then no condensation.

Another age old trick to remove headlight condensation is to place (or tape) some newspaper over the headlight lens then turn on lights.

Used to work a treat with glass headlamps. My old merc had this condensation problem for ages. In the end I did re-seal the headlamps. I'm not so sure that this trick would work with modern plastic headlight units. Never tried it on modern cars. It might be worth a try.

Kind Regards.

Paul.
