Toasting Glow Plug

Here's an interesting one:-

Since I had 2 injectors, injector loom and 4 glow plugs changed my car keeps toasting the glow plug on cylinder 2

It's back in on Tuesday for the third new plug

Any ideas ?

Are they fitting the right ones. Lots of garages fit the wrong ones.

Thought of that Martin, I'll ask on Tuesday, I use Awesome Gti for my repairs who are usually spot on.

Am I correct in saying that they should be the 7 volt NGK?

If they were the wrong ones would it not toast the glow plug control module?

B6 PD engines; BMA, BMR, BVE, BWV, BUZ, BKP, all use NGK CZ304
These are 7V glow plugs. M8 x 1.0mm thread. With an M8 hex nut body

If they fit the wrong ones, the controller will eventually fail.

Lots of places fit Beru or Bosch glowplugs because they think the passat is the same as a golf. Some of the engines are the same but the glowplugs are different.:aargh4:

Hi Martin,

You were right they had fitted Beru glow plugs which I believe are 4.4v

Now has a full set of OEM NGK's in it
