Hi all, I need some advice on my Audi A4, 51 plate 1.9tdi. Hoping (praying) someone can shed some light or has experience of the issue.
About 4 weeks ago the alarm kept going off (everything on the car is standard fit) and the display on the dash was showing that the passenger side rear door was open, it wasn't. Took it to local Audi/VW dealer who diagnosed a faulty locking mechanism (apparently the alarm tech' is enclosed within) they fitted a new one in and I thought job done. Two weeks later exactly the same problem, car would think that the same door was open and trigger alarm. Took it back to the garage and they used some anti damp treatment in case water was getting into the door, picked car up - fine for a week and now it's back in the garage - same problem.
I've had experience with the garage and they seem really good and to be fair sometimes they can't recreate the fault and when they run their test it keeps passing.
I asked if they could disconnect the alarm from that door but apparently this is not possible?
Has anyone had a similar experience or know of potential cause/solutions.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice,
Craig
