Hi, I have an A4 Cab 1.8t Sport 2003- manual, the problem is the reverse gear has recently become very difficult to engage. The whole of the gear change feels sloppy to me, although its the wifes car and I dont drive it that often.
It started just before Christmas in all that show and then seemed to improve. Its been to my local garage to have water pump replaced and now I've got it back its worse. Now I'm saying that the local garage have done anything, rather that the problem seems worse when its been stood.
Has anyone got any ideas on what this might be? Is it likely to be worn linkage and can that be adjusted?
