spedo cluster problem

hi ive got a 2007 a3 tdi quattro and have got a problem with the instrument cluster ive got a new one sat in another car but before istart ripping out the dash to get at it is there anything i should know, dose anyone have an easy way to get at it? any sugestions would be much appreciated cheers James

To swap the dash panal inserts is an easy job, pull the steering wheel as far towards the driver & as low as possible, remove the trim under the dash panal & there's 2 screws, remove the dash & un-plug the connectors.
Now for the difficult bit. You'll need to service the immobiliser & carry out various adaptions, all of which will be impossible without the correct computer & access to the Fazet computer!

Vag commander can code the immo on the dash, just need to find someone that will do it, as yours is an 07 it will have a 7 digit code which is a little harder to do than the 4 digit, i know someone in hertfordshire that can do it
