Had an issue with the key fob few months ago and I replaced the battery and re-sync. Today its stopped working again. The red light is not flashing.

I can start the engine with the key its just the central locking issue.

My spare key works fine.

I've been reading, is there is an issue with B7 (55) cars with the key fob?

Is it possible a new battery from Sony could go dead in 2 months?

I am using 1* CR2032 battery is this correct?

Does anyone know anything about this.

Thanks

Have the same problem with mine. Swapped the battery out of the spare fob (which was and still does work fine), which saw the sane lack of operation. Tried re-coding using the manual and various web techniques to no avail. Phoned dealers to be told "oh it just needs re-coding", like I'm some sort of chump. Going in tomorrow including a service. Shall have a smile when they tell me it required replacement. Lol.

Lock car using key in drivers door lock,
Open car using key in drivers door lock,
Put key in ignition, turn ignition to position II (lights up dashboard)
Do not start engine!
Turn key off and remove from ignition,
Immediately press unlock button on remote,
Done!

Should be fine, failing this try programming with Vag Com software

Just come from the dealers. The remote fob is faulty. Dealership are going to get in touch with audi uk regarding warranty replacement (have a 12 month used warranty). I did have a little smile :).

Thanks GarJe,

I put a new battery in the key fob and re-sync. It seems to work.

Hope it works longer.

Thanks

Is the little Light flashing when you press the buttons?

Hmm, Are you having funny electrical issues like windows or central locking not working or alarm going off for no reason?

It could be pointing to the Comfort Unit (Central Convenience unit).

If you followed the steps I posted for re-syncing the remotes and they still don't work, I'd suggest you try to program them using Vag Com software (ask someone near you who has Vag Com and is a member here?!) or similar and see what the car does.

The other thing to try is remove car battery connection for a few minutes, reconnect it, then try the re-syncing procedure again.

Cheers
Sarge

Remote fob Re-sync process:

Lock car using key in drivers door lock,
Open car using key in drivers door lock,
Put key in ignition, turn ignition to position II (lights up dashboard)
Do not start engine!
Turn key off and remove from ignition,
Immediately press unlock button on remote,
Done!

Hi,

As Sarge says, it could be your convenience unit. Our alrm started going off for no good reason and the keys kept losing the code - had the CCU replaced under warranty and it's sorted now!

Mike.
