Bit long winded..sorry.1998 2 litre auto estate.have just wired up a new stereo...when the ignition is switched to the engine run position, the stereo feeds lose the power..if i wiggle the ignition key,it powers back up.The key looks a little worn( i only have one key copy!!) a few ideas have come into my mind...
1.ignition barrel/key worn,,if i get a key and barrel..does the car have a chipped key??will i need to get a new key and get it programmed??
2.is it the switch unit at the bottom of the barrel, ive bought a new one..10 quid..GSF seemed to have quite a few on their shelves..is it a common fault??
3.the key looks too badly worn to get a decent copy, any ideas where i would go to get a key number??
sorry again its a bit long winded..but its a pain going along the raod and losing the power and stereo all the time!!thanks for any info and suggestions,Tim:Blush:

You're probably not going to fancy replacing that switch either - I Know I didn't.

I pulled the wheel/shaft to do mine and of course didn't get the wheel back on properly and now the wheel is off centered but I can live with that. The only issue is that it sometimes messes up the blinker/indicator arm turning off automatically.
