Hello,

I'm in the market for a new car and stumbled upon a '98 Mk3.5 (the facelifted Mk3) Cabrio.
Its a 2.0 85kW petrol engine, and it has no AC.
There are a few wrecked Mk3's around with AC, and i was wondering, is the AC system THE SAME for every engine, or does it have special parts for each engine?

If i get it, how hard is it to mount it? Is the wiring for it already present or is it pretty much a "tear apart" job?

Thanks for your answers

if (and its a big if) you got all the parts from a crashed car you could retrofit the air con, the parts you would need would be

a/c compressor
and pipes
heater box and poss the dash
a/c rad
im not sure how much extra wiring is involved
it is a massive job to take on and there is a chance it would cost a bucket load of cash

if you do take it on all the best

thanks for the answer.
as far as i researched it doesnt matter from which engine it came... i found a wrecked one, will call tomorrow wether the A/C is complete or not. New AC parts are expensive as hell.
