2005 BLB Audi A4 2.0 TDI Missfire, cuting out and smoke!

Any ideas?

late 2005 A4 2.0 Tdi, driving along and it looses power, goes totaly flat off boost and will only do 20mph, stick it in first it comes on boost and all is fine again for a little bit, does this 3 or 4 more times then stalls at a juncion Game over!

Towed home and it starts ticks over smootly for about 15 seconds then starts to missfire and cuts out, does the same every time, its not a electrical problem i am sure,

What it does do is as soon as the missfire starts it chucks loads of smoke out of the inlett manifold (with boost pipe removed) & bit of smoke out the exhaust, that gets worse until it finaly cuts out, restarts instantly and does exactly the same!

Has no power at all and wont even pull away

Could this be down to the EGR valve or have i got a ******* inlet valve or something?

Ideas on a postcard!!

No warning lights on the dashboard?

I dont think this can be down to the EGR valve, as they rarely go wrong to be honest. There isn't much to go wrong with them! Exhaust gases just get cooled and then recirculated.

Inlet manifold can't really be fubared either, unless its just super cruddy full of carbon deposits and so isn't allowing air in properly.

What mileage is your car on?

I think you should get a scan done via VAG COM.
