Hi there, 2007 b6 passat failed to start today, RAC man carries out a diagnostic check and tells me that a there is a wiring fault with the fuel injectors/or faulty Injectors. What kind of warranty do VW provide for 4 year old Passats ???
or am im looking a big bill??

My car is 4 years old and VW don't want to know about this injector problem. Mine just set me back £1600 for 2 new injectors, injector wiring look and 4 glow plugs.

Did you get the good old "Engine Fault - Garage" displayed on the dash??

Sorry to sound all doom and gloom !!

On the positive its running sooooo sweet now (the remap also helped)

I have just had the dreaded injector failure myself (yes 2.0 tdi , 140 BKP, 100k) . My Dealer quoted £970. On the blower to VW customer services and after 4 days (yes FOUR) of phone calling, got them to cough up 60% (I have a full VW history)
I am now taking out a warranty with my dealer for £800 for 3 years unlimited mileage all major items covered including (and I triple checked this) the injectors!
I do 30k a year so I need the peace of mind.

Common fault with the Siemens injectors in these engines. They just short out and shut the whole engine down and does not put it into limp mode......Not good when your in the outside lane !!!!!!

Oh dear :(. The more times I hear this the more times i brick it :(.

I have a low mileage 2.0 tdi 140 bkp non dpf. £800 for 3 yrs peace of mind sounds like a bargain due to covering high miles and the fact that they can go at anytime. What are the t&c's?

I may be getting rid of mine this year so it will only be on 80k max when I come to sell. Due to being ultra reliable I should really stop doubting it and be more positive :D

I wonder how many 170 pd's have failed as they use the same make of injector.

I'm curious if the 140's that have failed have dpf's?

Help anyone?

Rappy,

The 140's don't have the old DPF

Haven't read the small print yet but the usual no wear and tear items applies, also no exhaust system including catalytic converter but I am only really worried about the injectors. If one more goes in the next 3 years then it would have been worth the money.
