Ok, I won't bore you too much, and cut straight to the point, because my fingers are hurting just typing. :(
Nick King Arrived 10.30, left at 17.30. :p
MFSW, Control Module and Dials in under an hour :beerchug:
Last hours spen on Vag-Com, after about an hour, successfully reset steering assist and angle sensor. Then came to Auto Hold enabling. Only worked once I had cleared all steering assist faults! That going thought I had done when... :aargh4:
Steering wheel Controls was not operating the RNS 510 in Nicks car, the controls worked fine with the High MFD, scrolling menus, setting date etc. However we couldn't get it to talk to the RNS 510... No Volume, skip track. Every setting on Vag-Com I'm 99.9% sure is correct. Is there a setting on the 510 to enable wheel buttons? :1zhelp:
Please help, well cheesed off! :zx11:
Nick's a good lad too, nice guy :drive:
Have the Vag-Com Auto Scan data too if this helps? :approve:
Thanks guys, Nick will also post when he gets home after rush hour ;)

Got home 25 mins ago, took me 30 mins to get to the first roundabout near the supermarket about 5 mins from your front door so I didn't do bad once back on the A1.
I'll give that a go in a minute what you've suggested.

I wonder if I have to use the same version of it or if I can upgrade?
I've got both versions, as soon as I've got my daughter to sleep I'll go sit in the car for an hour :)

Not working with either... bugger!
Tried http://www.my-gti.com/1966/volkswagen-rns-510-firmware-upgrade-to-version-2720-2722-2724-2726-2728 but it doesn't work, gives me an error.
So I got firmware from http://www.my-gti.com/1769/volkswagen-rns-510-firmware-upgrade-to-version-2680-2682-2684-2686-2688
and it does this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4PBq0qjpPo

Success!
Re-installed the current firmware version (2680) which unfortunately wiped my map data and the menu's reverted to German BUT the buttons on the steering wheel are now working and controlling volume/tracks.
Downloaded errr acquired errr borrowed a V7 Europe map CD and installed that, menu's now back to English, full postcode search also enabled rather than the partial search I had before. All radio stations reprogrammed, all settings back to how they were before and working a treat. Also doesn't think I'm in Germany when I start the car either :D
Only thing I can't do anymore is get to the so called secret menu, but i'll work on that.
Cheers again Tom for fitting all the stuff for me. It's now the car I wanted nearly (can anyone retrofit 4motion :D).
