replacement gear knob...

I'm looking to replace the black standard leather gear knob with a walnut one to match the new dash trim. Will a b5.5 passat knob fit the b6 fitting?

I've done a little bit of research and so far all I know is that the b5.5 gear knob has the same method of removal, i.e. clip which requires gator to be lifted. This is sounding positive but don't want to splash out on the walnut 5.5 knob until i know it definitely fits the 6.
