hi all im new to this forum as im looking for an A8 4.2 .In the next month or 2 ill be looking to spend about £1500 on one so wot i can see it ll be an early model 1995 upto about 1997 .
for that kind of money am i going to end up with a complete dog that ill be throwing money at left right and center or is audi reliability that good that ill end up with a lot of good car for very little money ?
can anyone give me advice on common faults or anything i should really look out for and are these AA and RAC inspections worth it or is it worth finding someone local with a bit of audi knowledge ?

thanks in advance Darren :beerchug:

im in south wales area by the way

good starting point below, tho for that kind of money guess you should be prepared to throw money at to get it into shape, and nothing with these is cheap, and its not really a DIY car either, and insurance, fuel, road tax , servicing is not cheap.

probably better in the long run to try and invest a bit more in the purchase price, probably cheaper overall to be honest

A great car and an absolute money pit. If you can do all the work yourself then fine, if you have to pay or it and you are short of funds, do not go there.
