Hi All,
I have a frustrating rattle coming from the near side front door of my 2003 Avant. It's one of those little annoyances that slowly drives you mad over time and I'm tempted to take the door panel off and see if I can find the offending item. It seems to be coming from behind where the glove pocket attaches to the door. Does anyone know what sort of fixings are used to attach these pockets? Are they likely to rattle? And lastly, is removing the door panel an option or is it a complicated exercise?
Thanks in advance.
Paul
there's a link on this thread which shows how to remove the door card

Just 5 minutes ago I attempted to fix this, like you I had a little rattle/squeak, driving along the road it was driving me insane. However if i tugged on the door handle inside it would stop for a spell. Decided to have a look at the only accessible fixing I could see (PH2 screw) and tighten it, I got a good 2 turns with my screwdriver. Maybe this will fix it, should know tomorrow when i drive to work.
Other annoying rattles to solve, somewhere in the glovebox, somewhere in the boot (avant) somewhere in cntre console, somewhere on passenger seat (maybe headrest.) :aargh4:

Before removing the doorcard, rule out the fact it could be the passenger seat itself. I've had this on my car. I traced the fault to the seat runners, but it looks like a nightmare to fix. I've learnt to live with it. Just turn up the volume on the radio... job done! http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0034.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-ashamed-smileys.php)
