Hi all,
My A4 has 100.000KM and since the winter started I am having DPF problems. What was strange is that first time it showed up was right after a highway run and the engine just stopped. Second time same thing 200km on highway, engine stops. Then the DPF light came in and started to regen.
In the meanwhile I took down the DPF&CAT and cleaned it in a friend's service. We used some industrial cleaning agent which they were using to clean the filters for trucks and DPF for other cars. We left the substance in the filter for one day to dissolve the deposits, next day we washed it and dried the filter.
After mounting back the filter I did an Active regen as in VAG-COM I wasn't able to find a replacement procedure for DPF filter, (possibly Bosch KTS could doit but I didn't had time to test it).
Also changed all oils (Engine, steering, gearbox) & filters.
After the cleaning and active regen DPF soat reading in VAG MVB 104 Field 1& 3 dropped to 0 and field 2 (Calculated Soot load) dropped to value 4.
I did a long journey of 1000km+some 200km(city driving), then DPF error came again MVB 103.2 = 22.5, MVB103.4 = 1200km (Last active regen.)
- should this value change also in case of passive regen? I have a feeling that passive regens are not done properly.
-anyone knows of any software updates for my ECU?
Now next days a bigger issue started: -engine just stopped and would not want to start. When switching ON ignition the yellow check engine light was missing and engine not starting. After a few ON/OFF switching the light came on and engine started/worked just fine.
Next day same issue even more often, and I took the car to Audi and see what they will say. I'm waiting for their call now.
-The question is could there be an electrical problem which kills the comm between the ECU and ABS/Instruments Cluster/Airbag control units when the DPF error kicks in?
