Hi.My rear wiper motor started leaking washer fluid into the boot so i replaced the wiper motor with one from a MK 4 Golf.Fitted perfectly on to the 3 fitting bolts and the wiring plug connected up perfectly. The problem is that the wiper now comes on and wipes the back window about 6 times every time you turn on the ignition regardless of the position of the switch. It seems to have a mind of it's own.:confused::confused::confused:

mine did that, water leaked in the tailgate but didnt notice till the wiper was going like mad when i put the ignition on regardless of the wiper stalk position.
ended up putting a new one on from another audi and had no problems since,
with regards to the golf one cant see why its doing that, only thing to do is try an audi rear wiper motor

I've a relative with a breakers yard who didn't have exact one for my car but had one in a Skoda Fabia 2001.I replaced mine with complete unit and rear wiper from the Fabia and it works perfectly. No problems at all.

When I bought my AUDI A3 2.0 TDI SE 2004 (54) I was told their was a problem with the rear washer & it had been disconnected. I reconnected it this evening and found the fault. It looks like water is leaking out of the motor?!
So I have been looking for the mentioned "Repair kit" I found this on a auction site:
MK4 Golf Passat Lupo A3 A4 A6 - Rear Wiper Repair Kit on eBay (end time 25-Feb-11 23:49:45 GMT)
Even though the description states only up to the 2003 model would this kit still be ok?
Or does anyone know somewhere better to get one?
ONLY OWNED THE CAR A FEW WEEKS!!! :aargh4:

Had an e-mail back from e-bay seller saying the repair kit is unsuitable- I would need to buy a new motor for £105- I think he's trying to make more money out of me!! Are the previous 3 door A3 models that different?

Just replaced my wiper motor. Twice !
My VAG specialist got me one from his supplier who said it was the same as a Golf Mk IV. All fitted perfectly until I realised that the washer nozzles stayed in the same position rather than moving round with the wiper. That one cost £57.
Went back to my man and showed him and he rang his supplier who eventually admitted that the labelling was wrong and it was not suitable for the A3.
My man then sourced the original Audi part, from where I do not know but it came in a VW/Audi sealed box, which was the perfect replacement. That one cost me an extra £25 making a total of £82.
The repair kit you refer to is not suitable for your car as it has a washer pipe that runs right through the spindle and does not turn with it - like the first one I tried.

Where is the best place to get one from?

My friendly independent VAG specialist got one for me from his supplier.
Think it was Eurocarparts or Trade Parts Supplies.
Both need business accounts so you need to find a garage.
Don't buy from ebay because you will not know whether it's right or not. The price on ebay for the right one is the price I paid plus £10 postage usually !
Or, of course you could always go to Audi !!

When I recently went in to my local Audi I thought i'd walked into the RITZ..I felt like I should be wearing a suit!!
I nearly fainted when they told me the price for a rear parcel shelf for my car!!!!
Thanks for your advice- I will get the part number & ask around. I have a friend in the Auto trade that might help.
