Hi peeps, i currently own a audi a4 1.8t 190bhp version with 6 gears
(BEX engine code) and i want to get it chipped and remapped to 230bhp, Would i need any engine modifications or turbo modifications to achieve 230bhp?, Also does any one know how many horseys you get out the 1.8t engine.

any help would be appreciated cheers.:o

Depends on how much money you want to spend, a remap, new recirculating dump valve, high flow cat and exhaust system should give you about 230 bhp

The awesome gti car is a 1.8t that has 340bhp but has had thousands spent on it.

Not to much, just cost me 2800 to insure it for a year lol. What could i do with like 300-400, i have seen some exhaust systems they cost like 800-1000. If i just got a remap and done no modifications is it possible to reach 230bhp?

+40 bhp with just a remap on a petrol im no expert but i would think not. And if it could be done would it safe for the engine

Wow thats expensive insurance!!! A remap will be about £200-300, if you go for a remap you will need to replace your recirculating dump valve as the standard bosch one can not handle the extra boost, a forge recirculating DV is about £80.

You need a lot more to flow 230 Bhp. You need a hybrid turbo and a front mounted intercooler to reach that... Your turbo will go pop with the increased boost to get to 230...You will also max-out your injectors so they will need replacing as well. In uk all power quotes are over-inflated... With loads of money a Backdraft motorsport will go up to 320 Bhp, any more and you'll need rods, forged pistons and monster injectors... The 1.8T has loads of potential...

Im not to far away from you ... previous posts are correct i would also recommend and aftermarket diverter valve or you can get away with a 50/50 split, also a nice panel filter (pipercross) i would recommend...
