Hi. I recently fitted a vw cd unit bought off E-bay to my 2000 polo it has a beta cassette deck in. The problem I have is that the CD unit is only powering up when it comes into contact with the metal casing of the cassette deck. I thought I could cure this by linking the two units up using a fly lead attatched to the two threaded earth studs onn the rear of both units. This does power the cd unit fine but now I have a permantly live CD unit when I turn off the ignition. I have tried putting my wifes GAMMA cassette into the polo and both units work fine without attatching the two.:mad:. Think some how my BETA cassette deck is not providing the CD with a switched earth. Has anyone else had this problem?.
