Scirroco To 2006 Passat Steering Wheel

Hi chaps,

I'm after some advise on if this is possible or not,

I bought this steering wheel off ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110634775547

I was under the impression that it would be a straight swap for mine as my original does not have the multi function buttons and as you can see neither does the new one.

The car was in Awesome Gti for another injector today (only another 2 to replace) so I asked them to change the wheel whilst I was there.

It turns out that the air bags are different in that my original has 2 connectors going to the air bag and the new wheel only has 1

Any ideas?

I have attached a pic of a wheel that looks similar to my original, mine is just minus the chrome bits.

Dying to get this wheel on !!!

Hi matey, you need a new Airbag Harness, with single igniter, I have one for sale £20 Delivered if you like, was going to stick it on Ebay as people are doing the same as yourself! I just bought a harness for £40 from VW!!

The wheel should be a straight swap!!

Cheers mate, sounds like just the part I need, does the harness include the wiring for the horn and would you know if I would need to do anything else?

I could open a can of worms as I've actually got another sciroco wheel, but its has the multi function buttons on it and I would imageine that would be a pain to fit and get it to function properly.

How do I buy the harness from you?

Another quick question. I found this on ebay and presume this is the loom in question, but where does the little black multi plug go?

That's my other loom I bought in error, didn't fit the Passat! To get the buttons working you will need the £40 loom from vw, a new steering module which can be anything upto £125, then you need to enable it via vag com! Do you have paypal? Tom

It came with a harness? Can you send me a picture of the harness that came with your new wheel? I don't understand, fair enough your old harness wont fit as it was a dual igniter and your new air bag has a singal igniter, but if your new wheel came with the harness, why would it not fit?!

The big yellow plug is a slightly different shape on the new wheel Tom

hmm. that's odd. Thats the wheel i was going to get when i have the money.

I was hoping the loom would fit. I asked a lad that came into work how he did it. and it was the same as that, told me it was a pretty straightforward swap

Oh well if I do at least I know what to do now :)
