new tandem pump price

Anyone know the price of a new tandem pump and also where i could order one from. Im in ireland so they would have to ship overseas

Im probably just dreaming here but i see there was a recall on the tandem pump and im wondering is the recall only for cars under warranty or is it for all audis regardless of year or milage???

Have a look here (http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/recalls/index.jsp). Put the car details in and the tandem pump is the first result that comes up. It doesn't mention which VIN numbers are affecte though, so you'll have to call a dealer and ask - the recall reference is on there so you may want to quote that.

Cheers mate but it says its just a fault with the bolts (Bolts of the tandem fuel pump cover may break) So im wondering would they replace the actual pump or just the bolts and the ref says 2004 so is this the year of audis recalled cos mines a 03

I think the date is when the recall was launched, not the dates of the cars affected. If they have fitted the wrong bolts that have led to leakage and failure of other parts they have to fix that too I believe.

The worst they can say is No. Also, there's the head office which may be of assistance too, their number is on the recalls page.

Hi Guys ,

Just wondering what warrants a component to be recalled . Does it depend on the number of queries and complaints lodged by owners ? I am having starting problems with the 1.9Tdi Quattro model every once in a while and it has me thinking that its a HP pump problem. I guess if enough people query it and lodge complaints it will get the ball rolling, be looked into and something will be done about it.

Hey Nick, have you had any starting problems in the past ? How many clicks on your clock ? 90k on mine, 02 model :beerchug:

hi mate never had any starting problems but i did change the gasket on the pump but it did not solve anyting 150000 miles on mine. Do you have any clutch slip?

Yeah was thinking it might be a gasket problem.... Had same problem with starting last year, just wouldnt fire up. Has happened twice now. Really annoying. No clutch slip problems

Ok fellas just wondering what your thoughts on buying a used tandem pump from a car dismantlers. I have found one and he wants 100euro for it. Its from a 03 a4 awx engine. I asked was there any comeback on it and he said if there was any problems i could bring it back
