I have an RNS MFD DVD navigation system fitted which has a double din screen. Is it possible to use this to display the image from a reversing camera?

Before I start to pull the radio out to make the connections, I wanted to check how to interface the camera with the sat nav. Is it a simple plug-in - or do I need a special interface?

Does anyone have a "how-to" guide on removing the sat-nav to get access to the rear connectors?

Pull the facia off and undo the 4 torx screws. Simple!

Don't quote me on this, but do only some off the RNS units have a video input? And even then, will it automatically switch when in reverese?

So if I understand this correctly, the facia should just pull-off? My main concern was that you may need a special tool to remove this part.

I don't know yet if the Sat Nav I have will allow a reversing camera to be connected.

If you get your fingers wedged in the bottom of the facia, it just pulls off. Use a good bit off force to get it free. The clips are strong as I've yet to break one and I've had it off a few times. Scary how quickly you, or a thief, could have your stereo out!

Just remember that the Passenger Airbag warning light is fitted on the plastic surround.

If you disconnect it, don't turn your ignition on as it will think the bulb has gone and put an Airbag fault light on your dash.

There is plenty of play in the cable to leave it hanging though.

Unless of course you have VCDS or similar to reset it!

Special interface needed for RNS. Have a look at this guide for the Tiguan for some ideas.

Well I now know that I need a Multimedia or AV adapter. Has anyone any ideas about which one I need?
