Hello all and all the best to you to
It starts here on motorway going uphill all fine trotting along 70 ish , took my foot of gas then when I put it back on it felt flat as if it was going into limp mode .
Pulled over at next exit luckily about half a mile bonnet up reved it gently no turbo, turned it off checked around nothing visible without tacking covers off etc , closed bonnet and locked the car up. Quick cigarette in the cold unlocked it started up and turbo back working as it should .???
Can anyone point me in the right direction to the cause of this or has anyone had similar fault by the way no warning lights came on the dash at any time
Could it be vac pipes if so are there any usual suspect pipes it is a 05 2.0 Tdi

hi mate it could be a vac leak, or turbo or boost pressure sensor or even a broken wire, did any lights come on when you lost power? i think the best thing to do is get a fault code read done to see if there are any stored faults mate

iirc to change the bulb there are 2 13mm nuts in the boot behind the light unit, all you do is open the boot left back the trim and undo the 2 nuts the light unit will then lift out and you can replace the bulb mate

well if the code read throws up an over boost code you could check the actuator is working using a vac gauge, you should get the full movement of the arm, hope it turns out to be a boost sensor instead of the turbo, the boost sensors are about £38 better than £300+ for a turbo
post up how you get on mate

Quick update n75 ok all pipes look good think it's vanes on turbo I think I am capable to do it myself but has anyone tried the spray that you do with air box pipe disconected and engine revving at about 2000rpm whilst spraying into turbo . Does it work or am I wasting time and money should I just take turbo off and get some brake cleaner ,

just normal tools plenty of WD40 and a good size bit of scotch brite pad so you can clean the vain part by rubbing it, it wont leave and marks, just a nice shiney surface, if you google vw turbo rebuild there is a full on step by step, its handy to have to refer to when putting back together
