Hi Folks,

I've been lurking about for a few weeks now and need to pop my head above the parapet! I have a couple of questions relating to servicing and parts:

I have recently acquired a 2005 C6 3.0 TDi Quattro Avant with about 66K. The car so far has been a dream, but I am concious that within the next 3-4 months I will need a service (and perhaps an early MOT)

Can anyone recommend a non-dealer specialist in the central belt in Scotland? I live in Fife and work in Lothian, so anything from Dundee to Glasgow would be fine. An internet search has turned up Deutsch Marque in Edinburgh and A4Audi in Glasgow. Does anyone have experience of using these guys?

My second question is does anyone have good source of Audi spares (again other than the dealer network). I am turning up nothing other than breakers sites, spare parts aggregators etc. I need a rear wiper arm assembly as mine has cracked and is a bit wobbly.

Many thanks for your advice and assistance:D

Joe

Hi, my last car was an A4 Avant Quattro and I used to take it to Autohaus in Loanhead (a few mins from IKEA). The two guys that run it are both ex Audi technicians and seem to know their stuff. I used them for two services and also an EGR valve replacement and each time they were very reasonable. I'm never keen on the main dealer servicing where you don't get to chat to the guys working on your car, just the person behind the desk so any info is at least 2nd hand. When the car was in at Autohaus for the EGR valve I stood having a coffee and chat with the guy while he changed it. Took him about 30mins and all I was charged was the cost price of the valve plus about £20 labour. He even topped my oil up for no extra charge. Also had the car in twice for them to plug their laptop in when I've had an alarm up and never been charged. Don't do MOT's but will check your car and take it to get done.
Definitely recommend them. Should find them if you search for their name.

I'm sure there is a new Audi specialist opened up a unit down at the Europarc in Rosyth. Auditechnic rings a bell. Again, ex Audi mechanics.

I'll drive-by and have a look.

Hey there, I can confirm about hearing good things re A4Audi in Glasgow, although the guys you're checking out seem much closer to you, so good luck with that. :approve:

As for parts?
Please do yourself a favour and at least ask the dealers....I have had some really good prices from my dealership, after expecting much much higher prices......Please see my link below on this

http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=111099

Our expectations are that prices are wayyyyy out there, and sometimes they're not....maybe worth a phone call at least? :beerchug:

Good luck

Gordon,

many thanks for the effort in driving past. I will give these guys a call nearer the time:D

Jim,

point taken my good man! I will give the local dealer a call. Hopefully I will be surprised. I'm getting sick of seeing the rear wiper vanish below the bottom of the window and taking longer to appear each time!

Cheers again guys

Hello. I'm new on here and love my A3. However, I need a new turbo and don't fancy giving Glasgow Audi £2000. Has anyone used a4audi or AudiVW Repair Centre and are they any good??? Cheers

I buy Audi Driver every mounth and there are a few part suppliers advertising ie www.gsfcarparts.com (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/member.php?154360-joewhite2417), [url]www.parts-depot.co.uk I have never used them but they seem to get good reviews.

I am not advertising the magazine but it's worth reading.

I've just booked our Passat in here for a service, and some minor work. I'll report back when its done. Seamed very nice on the phone, no gruff hasstled sounding mech...

Hi I have used both garages, although in the main I now use AudiVW repair centre (Duntocher). I would recommend both garages to anyone.
