alarm no lights flash

hi my 1998 a4 tdi alarm problem both of my key-fobs locks all the doors and door red flashes to show that it is armed but no indicators flash or headlights any more also alarm keeps going off during the night has anyone had similar problems

,make sure all doors,bonnet and boot are shut
scan with vagcom, it will show what is setting the alarm off.

hi,had same problem with my avant y plate,i fitted towbar which i had to strip off bumper and seals and trim around boot opening,didnt go back perfect,so the micro swich on tailgate picked this up and alarm wouldnt fully alarm,seem to be a bit sensitive the alarm,hope this helps.
