hello all, my petrol S-Line has started having a momentary loss of power, it normally happens just after changing up a gear when pulling away but now it is happening quite often. It is not predictable as it doesn't happen at any particular time and it is only a momentary blip but is getting a bit dangerous. It appears it might be the throttle position sensor but i'm not sure, any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers.

A code read might show up a throttle position fault..
Might be the best place to start

i did mean to add, i've just had the car back from audi for other work and mentioned this problem but there were no fault codes related for this problem.

was there any other faults on the scan?
Post them if you still have it

one came up but that was to do with the MAF because i had unplugged it to try and locate another problem. That was the only code that came up i think.

I had a similar problem to this in that when I would accelerate away in say second or third, the car would hesitate momentarily and then kick on (abt 1500-2500RPM). It slowly got worse over time. No fault on scan and couldn’t figure out what it was.
Was just abt to change fuel filter when I was decided to change fuel. Didn’t go for any of that super expensive crap, just a different vendor. Within a couple of weeks the problem had disappeared.. That’s a good year ago now..
I can only assume I was getting dirty fuel, as have no other explanation as to why the issue went away…

the problem sounds exactly the same, i will have to wait until i use up the rest of the tank. So you didn't suspect the throttle sensor then?

I didnt because when I scanned the car with VAGCOM I got zero faults...
Hope you get sorted...
