Heater Not Working - Help

I have a 56 Plate A6 2.7 TDI Quattro Avant and have a problem with the heater.

The engine warms up but very little in the way of heat comes through the vents. If i am moving is works slightly, if I am at a standstill or in traffic it blows through cold regardless of the temp selected or recirc

Are there any quick fixes available other than a trip to the dealer and a diagnostic

It must be winter as loads of people are asking this exact same question.

What does the dashboard engine temperature gauge say? It should be pointing at 90.

Engine temperature in on 90 all as usual.
