cutting out low revs high gear

I have an A4 B8 2008 with 42000 miles. I have noticed that now the car tends to cut out in mostly 2 or 3rd gear when i have low revs. usually if slowing down you can tell when the car is going too slow and when a change down of gear is needed, With my one there is no warning just cut out, usually followed by a oil pressure warning light. ( the oil level is good)
Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
I have also noticed that in the mornings the clutch does tend to be a bit juddery.
