As titled... Im in the London area and I have a 2006 2.0 TDI 140 with 60,000miles on the clock I would like to get a cambelt change then take on a remap after.
My Q is to anyone in the London area recommend me a good place where I can get a cambelt and a remap done, it's my first VW diesel car ever and dont want to go to a place where they are going to rip me off by giving me a stupid prices & not give me the right customer service to me or my car !!
If there isnt a 2 in 1 place then I dont mind going to one place for the cambelt first & elsewhere for the remap, alot of vw garage seem to be taking the pi$$ with there job and prices after reading alot of feedback on the search page.
I would like a recommendation where people from this site have used there own Passat & got a great service & job well done to there car.
Any address or details would be very much appreciated guys

I did exactly what you are after a few weeks ago but not in the London area. To help you use as a bargaining chip. I used a specialist in Stafford. They charged me £435 for cambelt+waterpump+remap. :D

Here is the website:
http://www.staffsvwspecialist.co.uk/
They are one of the sponsors on this site. The gaffer has over 10 years of experience working for VW and now he has opened his own business. No complaint about the job he did for me. It took 2.5 hours.

I think it's Dave. He is a one man team at the moment so I'm sure you or your friend will get through to him. :D

Don't worry about it. Maybe you put in the wrong search word.
I found some more. One of them has won an award. Should be good.

Hi, I had my 2.0 140 TDI Cambelt, waterpump done at a place called Russell Automotive, not far North of North Circular A406 near to Brent Cross in an area called Kingsbury. I am no expert but they also include changing another belt (altnerator?) as part of the whole process. It was not the cheapest price I have seen at £460.00 all in but I was swayed by the excellent customer service and the fact that they seem to have won awards for excellent service for several years in a row. They did the job in a morning. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a remap also as seem to be very into VW work. Here' their address. http://www.rac-london.co.uk/ Might be worth giving them a call anyway.
